Lewis Hamilton’s health scare fuels Kardashian curse jokes and huge backlash

This is so ridiculous”: Kim Kardashian faces backlash over F1 outfits as fans link Lewis Hamilton to the curse of Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian knows how to command attention, but her latest appearance at the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix has sparked a debate that goes beyond celebrity fashion. The reality star joined her boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton, at the high-profile racing event, bringing a series of glamorous looks that quickly became a talking point online. While some observers may have admired her bold style, others questioned whether her eveningwear suited the fast-paced sporting setting. The criticism soon spread across social media, where discussions about her dresses gave way to another familiar internet joke involving Hamilton and the so-called Kardashian curse.

Kim Kardashian’s F1 Singapore Grand Prix outfits spark criticism

Kardashian brought two distinct looks to the Singapore Grand Prix, choosing elaborate floor-length dresses for an event usually associated with team merchandise, casual paddock fashion and racing gear.

One outfit featured a vintage Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer 2003 design. The dress combined a pink base with colourful patterns, a corset-style bodice, short cap sleeves and a plunging neckline with a cutout at the chest. White strappy heels and soft makeup completed the look, while her half-up hairstyle kept the styling relatively simple.

For her second appearance, the SKIMS founder chose a baby-pink gown with a high neckline and a sheer skirt. She paired it with matching pink accessories and a sleek bun, maintaining a polished, coordinated appearance.

However, the outfits divided online audiences. Some commenters felt the dresses were better suited to a formal party than a racing weekend.

“She always misses the mark. The sheer, body-hugging long dresses are boring and ridiculous,” one person commented.

The criticism continued as others questioned the styling and setting. One person asked, “What about hiring a stylist?” Another offered a more measured response: “Beautiful dress, wrong occasion,” while someone else remarked, “It’s a circuit, not a catwalk.” One critic also commented that she was “wearing corsets and evening dresses in F1.”

The reactions highlight a familiar challenge for celebrities at major sporting events. Their outfits can attract almost as much attention as the competition itself, particularly when their choices depart from what audiences expect to see in the paddock.

Lewis Hamilton’s health scare fuels Kardashian curse jokes

Kardashian’s fashion controversy was not the only subject drawing attention. Hamilton’s condition after the Singapore race prompted social media users to revive the internet’s long-running Kardashian curse joke.

The Ferrari driver reportedly experienced dizziness and exhaustion amid the intense heat and humidity at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Following the race, he was seen taking a knee while waiting for the mandatory driver weigh-in. Ferrari later confirmed that he received a medical exemption from post-race media duties and interviews.

Some users jokingly linked his discomfort to his relationship with Kardashian, repeating the familiar online narrative that men who date members of her family encounter bad luck.

However, the comments were speculation, not evidence of any connection between Kardashian and Hamilton’s condition. Singapore’s demanding weather conditions offered a clear environmental factor that could contribute to physical strain during a race.

As the online discussion continued, Kardashian’s outfits and Hamilton’s recovery became separate talking points surrounding the same Grand Prix weekend. The episode once again showed how quickly celebrity appearances can shift from fashion coverage to viral speculation, even when the sporting event itself remains the main attraction.
