People who voted for Donald Trump are sharing their thoughts on his largely one-sided beef with Pope Leo XIV, and one supporter’s take is going particularly viral.
Speaking to CNN, one Catholic parishioner expressed just how frustrated they are with Trump’s attacks on the pope.

“I don’t think it helps the president at all,” they said. “I think it’s colossally stupid, and I say that as a Catholic and as a person who voted for Trump.”

“It’s not the battle to pick,” they continued. “I would rather see him try to come to some accord with the Holy Father and with the church’s position.”

“I do think that things needed to be done in Iran,” they concluded. “I think that regime was dangerous, but I don’t think picking a fight with the pope or trying to school the pope on theology is a good idea at all.”
